With so many resources to choose from it can become confusing which is which and what option is best for you. Available on this platform are the original DVD Lessons that were created beginning in 2000. There are the eight on-line clinics and there is this course.

This course was designed to give you a thorough, step by step introduction to clicker training. It combines text with video. I've written books and I've made full length two hour DVD lessons. There is material you can put into text which doesn't work well in videos, and material that is better seen than described in text. This course brings both together. I can explain a concept and then illustrate it with video.

How does this course differ from the on-line clinics? The clinics are designed to be more interactive. If you would like direct feedback on your training, I would direct you to the clinics. If you just want to go through the course material on your own, this course is a good option.

This course took two years to construct and represents over twenty years of
work. When I talk about it, I find myself saying it is not small. That's the best way I can describe it. It is made up of 14 Units and contains over 185 video clips. Most of the clips contain material that was created specifically for the course. A few are taken from the Click That Teaches DVD lesson series.

This is a Foundation Level course. It is intended first and foremost for people who are new to clicker training and want to get off to a great start. Clicker training is an easy concept to understand, but there are lots of small details that make a huge difference to your training success. This course will guide you past the pitfalls. It will get you off to a great start and show you how to make creative use of clicker
training.

It will also form a great review for people who are already familiar with the clicker and want to get some fresh ideas to liven up their training. And for those of you who are teaching clicker training, you'll find that it is a tremendous resource to add into your own training program.

In this course you’ll be discovering that the sky’s the limit! It doesn’t matter if you ride english or western, if you are a trail rider, an endurance rider, a reiner, a jumper, a dressage rider, or just a weekendpleasure rider, this clicker foundation course applies to all disciplines and interests. If you are starting with a foal, have a green
horse, a seasoned campaigner, or an old family friend, you’ll find this work applies to them all.

After you’ve completed this foundation course you’ll be able to teach your horse new skills and to resolve training issues. Did I say the sky’s the limit? Actually I was wrong. With clicker training there is no limit to what you can create out of great training foundation.

Alexandra Kurland has been working since the early 1990s to bring clicker training into the horse world.

Her area of particular interest is the development of a horse's balance: physical and emotional. Helping horses stay sound throughout a long lifetime is the goal. The result are beautiful horses that feel like heaven to ride. Her work can be applied to any breed, discipline, and age.

In 1998 Alexandra launched the rapidly growing field of clicker training for horses with the publication of her first book, “Clicker Training for Your Horse”.
She has also written “The Click That Teaches: A Step–By–Step Guide in Pictures” and “The Click That Teaches: Riding with the Clicker”. She has also produced The Click That Teaches DVD lesson series, plus an on-line training course, and an extensive library of articles in her blog: theclickercenterblog.com. She also produces the weekly Equiosity podcast - an exploration of all things equine with a special emphasis on the horse-human bond.

Alexandra teaches clicker training geared to any horse need or sport—including developing a gentle and companionable riding horse, working with foals and weanlings, training advanced performance horses, and helping difficult to handle horses.

Prior to the pandemic, Alexandra traveled widely giving clicker training clinics and presenting at conferences in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. She has been on the faculty of The Clicker Expo since it’s beginning almost twenty years ago.
Her clinic teaching has now shifted on-line so wherever you are in the world, you and your horse can learn directly from Alexandra.
